Don't fall for it: Industrial "trees" do not produce oxygen

Don't fall for it: Industrial "trees" do not produce oxygen. Only old forests protect the planet. Natural forests produce more oxygen.

By Tonia Mavrommati

A heartfelt ode to the breath of the forests

Close your eyes. Breathe in. This air, sweet, life-giving, full of phytoncides (protective chemical compounds that even kill cancer cells), imbued with stories, is a gift from the forest. But not all trees sing the same song to the heavens, because we humans have changed their DNA. We have made them HYBRIDS, an insult to their nature. We have made them ZOMBIES.

Allow me to tell you about the old guardians and the new pioneers, and who pours their heart and soul into the oxygen that fills your lungs.

Imagine an old forest, an ancient oak forest, full of centenarians, where the trees stand like wise elders, their roots intertwined with secrets older than civilizations. These are the cathedrals of life, where every leaf is a prayer, every branch a testament to the sun. For centuries, they have converted sunlight into breath, weaving oxygen into the air with a patience that only time can teach. Their branches full of flowers and life, green, dance in a symphony of green, each tree a note in an eternal song.

These ancient beings do not just produce oxygen – they exhale it into the world like a mother's lullaby, constant, generous, unwavering. Their entire existence is a love letter to us. Without them, is there a future for us?
